A few weeks ago, I joined a gym. Planet Fitness, to be exact. I opted for the PF Black Card that provides extra perks.
You may be wondering what this has to do with building a B2B copywriting business, right?
Hold on a few minutes and it’ll become clear.
But to lay the groundwork, let me explain why I joined in the first place.
As you know, I’m working harder than ever to build my business to the level where I can leave my full-time job. My goal is to generate all the income I need solely from my copywriting business and related activities.
One thing I’ve noticed is that I sometimes feel worn out, particularly on the days I work at my job. Seems like the old “get up and go” has got up and… gone!
Not good.
Sure, I could blame it on my age. I am 61, after all. But, a lot of people are very successful at 60 and well beyond.
Fact is, I’m just out of shape!
So, I figured I’d better do something about that. After thinking it over, getting a gym membership seemed the best option.
I know… even a gym membership has its shortcomings. A lot of people get one with good intentions of going every day to work out and get in shape.
I even did that years ago.
This time, it’s different. I don’t know if it’s my motivation or my goals I want to achieve.
(It could be that I’m a penny-pincher. If I’m going to spend money, I’m going to get the most I can out of it!)
A light bulb turned on after meeting with my trainer today. It was our first meeting and he designed a strategic fitness plan to meet my goals.
On the way home, I realized how it was similar to designing a copywriting business.
Here’s what I discovered.
