I just got off the phone with a potential client who was as nice as you could possibly imagine.
They called me from overseas… they were professional and courteous… and we got along well and will probably move ahead with the project.
In other words, the phone call went as well as it possibly could — and yet here I am, at my desk with sweaty palms and adrenaline-infused jitters.
What can I say? I’ve just never liked phone calls — at least, I don’t like phone calls where I feel like I have to impress someone on the other end of the line.
But despite my discomfort and occasional awkwardness on the phone… I tend to have a high success rate, with my client phone calls often ending in paid projects.
