The dictionary defines it as “the practice of ending a personal relationship with someone by suddenly and without explanation withdrawing from all communication.”
The term is used a lot in reference to online dating, but guess what…
Ghosting happens to copywriters, too!
I’ve seen it take many forms: not hearing from a client for weeks when my final bill is due… a client not responding to a proposal after we already spent a lot of time discussing the specifics over the phone.
And perhaps weirdest of all… potential clients who email me to request we schedule a phone call, but then never respond again when I send them suggested dates and times.
So, what do you do when clients don’t call, or email, or respond to any of your communications?
