“Fa, la, la, la, la,” and all that jazz, right?
You guessed it… this is the last Reality Blog article of the year 2017. And, just a few days after Christmas, to boot.
Shhh… come a little closer and I’ll whisper a little secret in your ear. But, you’ve got to promise you won’t tell anyone else, okay? This is just between you and me… two B2B freelance copywriters.
I’m writing this article in advance, due to the holiday production schedule. So, as I jot these digital words down on electronic parchment, it’s really not Christmas yet.
But, it’s SO close.
I guess you could say I’m looking into my crystal ball, peering into the future. Well, not really a psychic’s crystal ball. The one I’m gazing into has little plastic snowflakes swirling around a tiny cottage, surrounded by miniature pine trees.
You know the type, right?
And when I wandered from my office up into the dining room, I passed the small wooden Christmas tree that my sister sent us years ago. It’s sitting on a TV tray, festooned with lights. Hanging from it are painted wooden ornaments, each with a family member’s name on it.
This year, Mary and my daughter created one for each of the twins. Their names are adorned on the decorations with glue and glitter.
Very festive!
Not everything that glitters is gold. Sometimes… it’s golden.
The pooch, Sugar Baby, just wandered by the tree and glanced up at it. Guess she was making sure her ornament was there, too.
And yes… she gets her own stocking, hung by the file cabinet with care.
Earlier this morning, I heard Mary singing in the living room. She’s practicing for the church’s cantata… and the beautiful melody drifted down to my office.
Right now, I hear the twins chirping like little birdies, squawking for breakfast.
As you probably realize by now, this isn’t going to be your normal, business-only Reality Blog.
Then again… everything in a writer’s life is reality, both business and personal.
Today, we’ll look back at the past, evaluate the present, and plan for the future.

Wow… it’s been quite a year so far. I’m going to end 2017 with a bang in my B2B freelance copywriting business.
With my writing income equaling my regular hourly pay at work, we all know what is right around the corner.
